DISCUSSION ON OUR ENVIRONMENT AND THE CLIMATE CRISIS – AND HOW IT IMPACTS US LOCALLY

New Covenant United Church of Christ would like to invite all members of the Lycoming County Faith Community to join them for an afternoon gathering to learn, share and discuss, “Our Environment and the Climate Crisis” ; “And How It Impacts Us Locally,”
It will be held Sunday, October 20, 2019, from 3:00-5:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at New Covenant UCC, 202 East Third St., Williamsport, PA. Vickie Smedley, who has received training with The Climate Reality Project, will present a power point focusing on climate change in PA. Barb Jarmoska will discuss the issues surrounding the proposed rim to rim Pipeline and an additional water withdrawl site on Route 87, north of Montoursville. She will talk about how this affects the Loyalsock Valley, the Loyalsock creek and the property owners living in close proximity to the proposed site. Also Barb will share information regarding the current status of the Gas and Oil industry in Lycoming County. There will be the opportunity to learn about Lycoming College’s Clean Water Institute and the Green New Deal.
In light of our current weather news and realizing the climate is drastically changing this will be worthwhile time spent.
